Shrewsbury Furniture Scheme

How to donate items

  • All soft furnishings (sofas/beds) must have a fire safety label attached (all furniture manufactured after 1988).
  • Mattresses must be in a clean condition (any stains and we won't be able to take them).
  • Electrical goods must be in working order (all items are function and PAT tested prior to going on sale).
  • We can accept books, records, CDs, bric-a-brac, kitchen utensils, bicycles, gardening equipment etc.
  • Wardrobes, wall units (under 4'6" width) chest of drawers, chairs, tables and other household furniture.

We endeavour where possible to make good small imperfections on donated items but are unable to take heavily marked or damaged goods, faulty electrical items or stained soft furnishings.

We are unable to take any Gas appliances.

We collect donated items free of charge in the Shrewsbury and surrounding areas.  Please see our Delivery schedule for our collection areas.

If you have items that you would like to donate and are not in a position to be able to bring to the Scheme, below is a list outlining what we can collect. We accept donations of good quality furniture and household items including white goods.

Our drivers and crew will give advice and assistance where necessary and all collections are at the drivers discretion.

Everything you donate goes towards helping someone in need
